Safety Surfacing

Wetpour provides a seamless rubber surface which is laid in two layers. The base layer provides the impact absorbency and the top layer provides a coloured, hard wearing finish. Due to this surfacing being laid 'in-situ', shapes & games can be included in the surfacing design, however, this does add extra cost to the project. Wetpour would not be suitable for areas under 35sq. meters due to the initial set-up costs involved.

Rubber Tiles are pre-formed rubber slabs which are available in a range of colours and thicknesses, depending on the level of impact absorbency required. For public use, they should be glued down to a concrete base, for residential or a controlled environment an interlocking tile is available, which can be laid on a stone base, giving a significant cost saving.

TigerTurf is an innovative re-invention of the traditional synthetic grass products of the last twenty years. It is much softer and safer that is predecessors and has been developed in association with athletes and sports governing bodies. It has greatly reduced maintenance requirements, is usable in all weather conditions and can help prevent allergic reactions, such as hayfever, typically associated with grass. TigerTurf is recommended by FIFA.

Safagrass is an open weave rubber matting laid directly on top of an existing grass surface or on soil where grass has been newly planted. These mats allow the grass to grow through them so that the lawn can be cut as normal. Grass mats should not be used in areas with poor drainage or in areas where vandalism has been a problem.

Loose Fill is the term used to describe play-grade bark or woodchip safer surfacing. It is commonly used when a natural appearance is preferred. Though relatively inexpensive to purchase and providing good impact absorbency, it will require constant maintenance and topping up.
